8:28 Here is Soledad O’Brien. She’s turned this thing into a book. She’s joined by three women who are Latino the way O’Brien is black. Soledad says that “Latino” is inclusive. You can be Chinese and speak Spanish, like O’Brien’s grandma.

Lasagna says that Pilgrims immigrated to America. You can’t be sympathetic? Daisy: This country lives because of immigrants! Creole says that she’s proud of who she is. America is the land of opportunity. But why are all white nations lands of opportunities? No one asked that.
8:56 Congressman says his parents are immigrants. Another e-mailer says you should respect the US and speak English. I like how this countdown actually allows criticism of Hispanics. With Black in America nobody dared.

9:04 A 15 year old girl in Miami has had her American dream “deferred.” She lives in an institution. O’Brien asks her how she feels. She entered the US illegally by herself. She came to the US to search for her mother. What great family values.
9:06 Mel Martinez started at such a camp. They were made up of Cuban refugees. Children separated from their parents. America embraced them. Today, boystown is subcontracted to the US government from the Catholic church. They sit around waiting for judges to rule on them. They’re kids who came to the US without their parents.
9:08 Martha crossed the Rio Grande in a tire. Border patrol caught her. She went and found her mom but then decided she didn’t like her and her boyfriend. So now you white idiot taxpayer support her. A judge sent her to boystown.
9:12 Martha (Marta?) is lonely. She could be deported yesterday. She likes algebra. A Latina lawyer is going to fight Marta’s deportation.
9:15 Martinez says we need to make Mestizos legal. And border control. Cubans built Miami they tell us. Really? Marta is going to tell a judge her mother neglected her. If the judge takes pity on her, she stays. Otherwise, back to Nicaragua. Her grandma died and there’s nobody there to take care of her.
9:19 A commercial of a black mother working hard so her son James can become Dr. James. Ha. Blacks are like always doctors and engineers.
9:23 O’Brien talking to a Cuban singer. What do these Cubans have to do with Mexicans in Mexifornia? What is the racial makeup of Cubans in America? What’s the black/white/native ratio? They all look about a quarter native.
9:24 Good news for Marta. She can file for a visa. She’ll be pregnant and on welfare in no time. Judge asks if he takes her out of boystown will she do well in school. She says yes. She’s going into foster care. Who knows, maybe this girl will make something of herself.
9:25 They send her to a Cuban foster family.
9:27 Marta is going to have her immigration hearing tomorrow. Her lawyer takes her to the courtroom.
9:27 45 minutes later she’s got a visa. What the hell? For what? Her mom neglected her, but her mom wasn’t even a US citizen! And she followed her neglectful mom to America!

I saw parts of it last night. Like BLACKS IN AMERICA, it was just a series of vignettes focusing on individual Latinos and/or Latino families that attempted to make you feel sorry for them and other NAMs
There was barely any broad macroviews or analysis of the overall group or stats or anything like, just a a big anti-White pity-party. Lots of crying about Latina dropouts, obese Latinos, suicidal Latina teens, pregnant Hispanics, feeling “out of place” in White areas of the USA, and other stuff like that.

OT, but Sailer’s blog, and the Race/History/Evolution Notes (n/a’s blog) blog, are both down. Blogspot however isn’t, and other blogs are loading fine. I checked beginning around 2:15 am most recently.
Sailer and n/a’s most recent posts were on counting Jews in the Fortune 400 and broader topic of Jewish wealth and power.

CNN.com has really been banging on this drum, and I mean hard. I think in one page load yesterday I counted 3 separate sob-like stories about ‘Latinos’, and that’s not counting Navarette (who is piece of work himself).

White Christians are about 18% of the Harvard undergrad population. And you’ll find similar proportions at the other Ivies and top universities.

True. Most of the “Whites” at American Ivy League are not of Northern/Northwestern European descent but rather are either fully partially ethnic Jews. Most Ivies and other elite American colleges are at least 1/3 Jewish, and some of them approach 1/2 Jewish or even more.
Since when did the word “White” in the USA come to include Near Eastern Semites (Jews, Arabs, Turks, etc) in its definition? Traditionally, the word “White” in the USA applied only to people of Northern/Northwestern European background, not to Jews, Arabs, Turks, Greeks, light-skinned Hispanics, Sicilians, and so on.

Soledad O’Brien is such a phony. In April 2008, Reverend Jeremiah Wright gave a speech in Detroit to the NAACP. One of the things that he said in this speech was that black and white children learn with different parts of their brain, and then gave an “unflattering imitation of the way white pastors speak.” Peoples comments were that he gave a racial speech. Soledad O’Brien, on CNN, was quoted as saying, in a gushing manner, that the speech was a “home run” and “really funny.” When questioned about the things he said in the speech, she would say things like, what he really meant was …..or what he wanted to say was… Once again she’s covering the truth and being racist. Just as with the Henry Gates incident. In an appearance on Anderson Cooper, the night or so before CNN’s “The Moment of Truth” she appeared enraged that it was a racial profile against Gates. She said that she got calls from her FRIENDS saying it was all about Gates being black. She went on that show with the purpose, at all costs, to destroy the credibility of the white police officer and throw him under the bus. When Cooper was talking she wanted to make the point that Gates said “Thank You” to the police officers. By mentioning that, she was purposely misrepresenting the truth by playing down Gates’ belligerence and racial remarks, which she didn’t even mention. Even Gates’ attorney and friend, said to the media that he used very strong language. Colon Powell and President Obama both said he should take blame in the incident. I have seen this in many occasions with her, where she doesn’t speak the truth and hides the true facts. Another time on Anderson Cooper, Cooper said to O’Brien that Senator John McCain hasn’t brought race into the campaign, like he said he wouldn’t. You would think her response would have been something like, that’s great because he shouldn’t. Instead she strongly insinuated that he would, even in the last week of the campaign. Also, her questioning style, in interviews is completely different with a white person than it is with a black person. Like in her interview with Henry Gates in “The Moment of Truth” She just went along with his lies. I have seen several comments on various websites about her racism. There are many other examples I could give of her racial bias, dishonesty and hypocrisy. She seems to consider herself to be black. She mentioned in an interview that her parents made it clear to her “you’re black” and that’s all there is to it.
She’s all about being #1, she wants the world to revolve around her. She comes first, before her family. She wants to be a celebrity figure and a star. In interviews she says she works 6 days a week, mostly out of town, and on some holidays. She goes to gala events, concerts, lots of entertainment events, as a single woman, leaving her husband and kids behind.
I think Soledad O’Brien is a very poor journalist. What ever happened to the days of CNN with Bernard Shaw and Judy Woodruff? T hey were honorable journalists. You could believe what they said. John Las Vegas
